Grand opening of the pupil ‘Snack Shack’

We are thrilled to announce the official opening of the Foxfields ‘Snack Shack’!

The idea of the ‘Snack Shack’ was created and named by School Council members who wanted to create a tuck shop style stall for pupils to have the opportunity to buy snacks at breaktimes like in mainstream schools.

A tuck shop of sorts was originally put into place late last year and running once a week where pupils could purchase an item using their star points earned in school.

This was extremely well received by the pupils and therefore this year, with further pupil voice and feedback, the school installed the pupils very own ‘Snack Shack’ which is located near the brand new MUGA.

The ‘Snack Shack’ is open 3 days a week and pupils can buy breakfast bars, fruit, sweet treats, and drinks. Pupils can also use their star points to purchase items.

The pupils run the ‘Snack Shack’ themselves as a mini enterprise, buying in stock and managing the accounts, giving them the opportunity to learn important life skills. Foxfields catering class also bake and provide pastries and cakes.

The entire project has been a huge success, born from an idea by the pupils, for the pupils, and run by the pupils. We are very proud of them all!
